The birth of Salsa Jam in Cyprus came in 2006. Mehmet Aslan aka DJ Salsero, the heart and soul of the organization, has worked extremely hard over the years to realize a dream that unites salsa enthusiasts around the globe in the Mediterranean. For 4 years Salsa Jam has been offering the most ambitious dance experience in Cyprus, making Latin beats and Latin vibes echo all over the island. It has provided amazing opportunities to admire mesmerizing moves, captivating choreography and creative style by legendary dancers from around the globe, gathering them on one stage to share their passion for dance. An undeniable interest by salsa lovers came together for the 1st Salsa Jam in Cyprus, which had the privileged support of Mundo Latino Dance Company from Turkey and local professionals from Cyprus. Success from the 1st sparked off the 2nd, the 3rd and then the 4th, where each year more and more people were attending, as Salsa Jam continued to impress its fans from all around the world. Salsa Jam had by its 4th become an annual event, an International Latin Dance and Music Festival, recognized and respected for its passion, prestige and professionalism among internationally famous artists, dancers, musicians and DJs. Even at a time of difficulty it proudly hosted one of the biggest Latin bands of recent years La Excelencia and the World Champions of Salsa Adrian and Anita alongside many other legendary artists from 30 countries, achieving a first on the island. This has honoured Salsa Jam highly and inspired us to keep challenging our limits and providing only the best, each time in a unique way. |
